More than 100 golfers put their skills to the test on Saturday at the Carlsberg Golf Classic that was played out at the Long Vien Golf Club in Vientiane.

Lao and foreign players took home a good haul of trophies and souvenirs at the close of a contest that was hotly contested and much enjoyed. The tournament also allowed Lao golfers to hone their shots ahead of the 11th National Games in Xieng Khauang province in October, when golf is also on the programed.

The winners is each of several divisions received trophies from the organizing committee. The organizers sank more than 300 million kip into the event and Carlsberg provided prizes of the top three players in the categories of nearest-to-the-hole, longest drive, and hole in one.

Results: Mr. Prasarn won the nearest-to-hole category, Mr Aek Mongkhon won for his performance, and Lattanavong won the longest drive trophy with a shot of 290 yards. No one achieved a hole in one.

Gross ranking champions: First place went to Mr Jang Heung Soo, in second place was Mr Kindavong Lattanavong and in third place was Mr Bouahom.

Net ranking champions: Mr Vilaysack Phetasa came first, Mr Sinsanongsuk was second, and in third place was Mr Vongvithan.

Mr Sinphathay Phanphengdy won the main lucky draw price, a trip for two to Erope from I Love Holiday tour.

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Managing Director of Lao Brewery Company Ltd. and President of the Lao Golf Federation, Mr Sounthone Sirisack, and Managing Director og Lao Brewery Company Ltd., Mr Henrik Andersen.

The Carlsberg Golf Classic was organized by the Lao Brewery Company Ltd. and the Lao Golf Federation, to celebrate Visit Laos Year 2018 and the 170th anniversary of the globally popular Danish beer label. The company said a Carlsberg Golf Classic had been held in Malaysia for more than 20 years, attracting around 5,000 golfers to each event. Last month, golfers from LAos and neighboring countries also gathered at the Long Vien Golf Club for the 6th Lao Golf Challenge.
