Lao Brewery Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973 as a joint-venture between foreign investors and Lao businessmen originally under the registered name of Lao Beer and Ice Factory. At that time, the company had an annual production capacity of 3 million liters of beer, 1.5 million liters of carbonated drinks and a daily production capacity of 120 tonnes of ice.

After the National Liberation, the Lao Government takes over the foreigners’ shares and Lao businessmen voluntarily hand over their shares to the State.

Loxley Public Co., Ltd and Italian-Thai Public Co., Ltd invest in Lao Brewery Co., Ltd, which enables Lao Brewery to increase both its production capacity and marketing efforts.

2026

Lao Brewery Company officially marked a significant milestone with the launch of its Long-Term Development Phase 1 (LDP1) plant expansion project, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Laos' economic growth, strengthening domestic manufacturing, and advancing sustainable development. The company was deeply honoured to welcome and celebrate this landmark occasion with distinguished guests, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Santiphab Phomvihane, and the Danish Ambassador to Vietnam and Laos, Mr. Nicolai Prytz, whose presence underscored the importance of the project. Representing an investment of €50.2 million (approximately LAK 1.18 trillion), the expansion forms part of a 10-year strategy to modernise LBC's brewery and beverage production facilities on Thadeua Road in Vientiane with world-class, sustainable infrastructure. Driven by the growing demand for soft drinks and drinking water across the country, the project introduces a state-of-the-art high-speed production line capable of filling up to 45,000 bottles per hour, with an integrated system that efficiently handles both cans and PET bottles to enhance operational flexibility, productivity, and long-term competitiveness. Beyond increasing production capacity, the investment will create employment opportunities, strengthen local manufacturing capability, reinforce supply chain resilience, and generate greater tax contributions to the Lao Government.
