The Lao Brewery Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Centre, organised a blood donation by company staff in Vientiane to boost the centre’s blood stocks and enable more lives to be saved.

The event is one of the activities under the company’s corporate social responsibility programme and also marks the 50th anniversary of the Lao Brewery Company this year, after it was established in 1973.

Mr Sitthixay – CA & Admin Director said Lao Brewery Co., Ltd. has organised several blood donations in recent decades as part of the company’s obligations to society and “This year is quite special because the National Blood Transfusion Centre needs more blood for storage in its blood bank. So we decided to organise this blood donation on behalf of the company, which is the second time we have done so this year,” he added.

 “Our aim is to supply as many bags of blood as possible so that more blood can be stored in the blood bank and be used to help save people’s lives.”

During the event, Mr Henrik Andersen handed over 80 million kip to Ms Chirapha Keokhamphoui to support the work of the National Blood Transfusion Centre.
Ms Chirapha praised the Lao Brewery Company for recognising the importance of blood donations and making such a generous contribution, adding that the centre required more blood and needed more people to donate.

 He urged members of the public to come forward and also donate blood for the blood bank so that more is available for use in hospitals.
